Across the automobile market, there is an evolving realization that R744 refrigerants offer an efficient and cost effective way forward.
 

The growing interest in R744 is being driven by the demand for solutions that are safer and more environmentally friendly, yet also more energy efficient. The challenge, of course, is engineering a truly safe and reliable charging solution that can manage CO2 stability, which has a critical point of 31° C. If the temperature drops below that point, it turns into liquid; if the temperature rises above that point, it turns into gas. Complicating matters, C02 requires up to 90 bar/g, with a running pressure above 120 bar/g as opposed to only 20 bar/g for conventional refrigerants.

 

The new ECO2MASTER™ technology from AGRAMKOW solves these problems. ECO2MASTER™ conditions CO2 to keep it constantly below or above the critical point of 31°C, independent of the ambient temperature, and in a constant, stable fluid or gas state. To maximize cost efficiencies, ECO2MASTER™ cools itself down with its own refrigerant, eliminating the need to invest in an external cooling circuit. So for the first time, carmakers can utilize CO2 refrigerants in their operations without worrying about accuracy, productivity or safety.

 

Two new CO2 solutions!

AGRAMKOW introduces two new CO2 solutions for the automotive industry. But while the technology is new, the way operators work with them is not. They are simple and straightforward to work with, just like the units they are used to.

 

 ECO2MASTER™-based ECO2PILOT service unit

ECO2PILOT deploys ECO2MASTER™ technology to keep CO2 in a constant gas state so the refrigerant is manageable, easy to handle and accurate. It also has a C02 pump that makes sure the unit empties C02 bottles almost 100% - as compared to other solutions on the market that can only empty about 35-40% of bottles! RHS®744 is ideal for service needs, R&D and pilot production.

 

ECO2MASTER™-based ECO2MAX™ technology for high volume production

AGRAMKOW high volume CO2 fluid filling equipment offers high CO2 density without problems with pressure and with the benefit of short cycle times. Massflow technology assures high accuracy. AGRAMKOW's CO2 filling solutions are just as accurate and safe as traditional refrigerant technologies.

 

Assuring reliability and safety

We have conducted extensive studies to develop equipment that can safely manage CO2 for automotive applications. One of our priorities has been to discover a cost effective way to make this possible, without compromising safety or performance. It is one of the reasons why our equipment is tested in a climate chamber to verify functionality throughout the working range of 10-50º C. We also work closely with industry partners and the VDA Working Group for Alternative Refrigerants (VDA: Verband Der Automobilindustrie, the German auto manufacturers' industry association), to assure the performance, reliability and safety of our CO2 solutions.
